How to Write Letter of Recommendation


It is a very easy task to write a letter of recommendation. You have to keep in mind some important aspects to draft an effective Recommendation Letter. The important aspects are described as follows:

The ideal length of this letter should not exceed to more than one page. This letter should clearly identify the purpose of the letter and check out whether it is for employment purpose or academic purpose. This letter basically focuses on the qualifications and skills of the candidate.

Before writing the letter collect the basic information of the individual for whom you are writing the letter. It should include the basic information such as his/ her qualifications, list of projects undertaken and any other qualifications.

The letter should begin with formal business greeting such as Dear Sir or Madam. In this letter, include information about the how you know the person you are recommending in this letter and also include the exceptional qualities and skills of that individual.

The letter contains three important sections such as introduction, body and conclusion.  The introduction should include the information about person and the time from when you known to the person.

The body of the letter contains information about the responsibilities undertaken by the person in the job and their performance. Here, the strengths of the person you are recommending are described in detail. Avoid using unnecessary information or words in this letter.

The letter should conclude with the contact information if you are willing to answer the questions which are follow-up questions. It is necessary to save a copy of letter for future reference or need. Proof read the contents of the letter and make the necessary corrections.
